Membership dues are $65 paid annually.  Membership in the society provides free admission for a member & guest to 12 screenings.  Memberships help keep the film society afloat.  On average it costs $600 a month to hold a screening.  This provides for rental of the theater and a one time screening fee for the film.  As you can see charging $5 at the door is nice but what we really depend on are memberships.  So hey..why not help keep a good thing going and join up.  Better yet, join up and get some friends to as well.  If you're feeling real industrious try also convincing a local group or company to sponsor a showing.  That'd be grand.  Who knows maybe one day we'll be able to hold a film festival in Hickory!
