SUMMARY:CHARITY CASE: A Documentary by Alan Jackson & Chris Frye
DESCRIPTION:The Hickory Museum of Art is inviting you to join them for another exciting night of audio/visual pleasure!\nHMA is open L.A.T.E. every Thursday night and is gearing up for the next film in Hickory Museum of Art’s new series\, Sight + Sound\, where they screen high quality concert films both past and current. The next event in this series will be held on Thursday\, January 22.\n \nFeel free to check out their website www.hickoryart.org or call Danielle Cannon at 327-8576 x 205 for more info. \nAbout CHARITY CASE:  A ragtag cover band formed by a radio DJ with no musical experience sets out to play one show —and ends up raising over a million dollars for charity\, building a brotherhood\, surviving personal tragedy\, and learning that music isn’t always about fame… sometimes\, it’s about family. \nWhen Charlotte radio personality Ace set out to form a cover band in 2001\, he had no musical background\, no expectations — and absolutely no plan beyond a single gig. But what started as a fun radio stunt grew into something much greater: Charity Case\, a high-energy\, no-profit rock band made up of mismatched players who bonded over a shared mission to send terminally ill children and their families on dream trips to Disney World. \nOver the next two decades\, this unlikely ensemble would headline packed clubs\, open for Bon Jovi\, melt faces with their mashups\, and raise over a million dollars — all without a single member drawing a paycheck. But their greatest accomplishments weren’t on stage. Through triumphs\, health battles\, and heartbreaking loss\, the band became a family. With never-before-seen footage and deeply personal reflections\, this documentary captures the wild journey of Charity Case — a band that never chased fame\, but instead found purpose\, love\, and the true meaning of rock and roll.
