The Footcandle Film Society will be screening the film THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO on Wednesday, August 7th and Thursday, August 8th at the Carolina Theater in Downtown Hickory. The showtime is 7:00pm on both evenings.
The screening is free to all current Footcandle Film Society members. All available seats will be sold to the public for $5.00 a ticket starting at 6:50pm, space permitting.
About the film: Jimmie and his best friend Mont try to reclaim the house built by Jimmie's grandfather (Danny Glover), launching them on a poignant odyssey that connects them to their past, even as it tests their friendship and sense of belonging in the place they call home. The film's writer and director, Joe Talbot, won the directing award at this year's Sundance Film Festival and the film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. The New York Times reviewed the film saying "The Last Black Man in San Francisco is an indelibly beautiful story of love, family and loss in America from two childhood friends turned filmmakers."
This film is rated R for language, brief nudity and drug use.
