Footcandle Film Society will be screening the documentary IN PURSUIT OF JUSTICE on Monday, November 26th at 7:00pm at the Newton-Conover Auditorium.  The screening is open to the public with tickets available at the door for $5.00 for all attendees.

This film was the winner of the Audience Favorite Feature award at the 2018 Footcandle Film Festival in Hickory.  The film society is proud to bring the film to the Newton-Conover Auditorium for an encore screening.

This screening is part of a new, monthly film series at the Newton-Conover Auditorium hosted by the Footcandle Film Society.  An optional discussion of the film will take place in the auditorium immediately after the conclusion of the film.  There will be beer, wine, beverage and refreshments for sale before and during the film.  The screening is open to the public and all potential future film society members are welcome; no membership to the film society is required to attend the screening.

About the film:  Walking past Jacquetta Thomas’ lifeless, brutally beaten body in September of 1991 changed Greg Taylor’s life, and North Carolina’s criminal justice system, forever. For seventeen years, Greg and his family fought to undo his wrongful conviction. It would take the creation of a unique, independent state agency – one vested with all the powers needed to determine innocence – and the revelation the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation misrepresented the truth in their scientific reporting, to set Taylor free.

The film is intended for mature audiences due to adult themes and conversations about violent crime.
